Fragments Toward the Unseen works with the idea of things appearing and slipping away within the painting. The surface is built through layers that are added, softened, and reworked, allowing forms to surface briefly before dissolving back into the surrounding field. Powdered pigment, oil, acrylic, and oil stick create shifts between lightness and density, clarity and blur. Marks fragment and drift, edges remain open, and space stays unsettled. Rather than directing the eye toward a single point, the painting allows movement across the surface, shaped by the relationships between different passages. This work isn’t about revealing a fixed image, but about staying with what is only partly visible—how meaning gathers gradually through accumulation, interruption, and release.
